KOL Foods Customer Happiness Specialist (F/T or P/T)

Our Customer Happiness Specialist will always be laser focused on serving our customers. They are our front line workers, ensuring that our customers receive the top-notch service they deserve!

We are a small, mission-led company, and our new colleague should be outgoing, detail-oriented and eager to be a problem-solver. We straddle the fields of sustainable and kosher food production, and this is an excellent opportunity to help our company grow.

Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis. We hope to fill this role as soon as possible.

Hours: We are looking for Full-time or Part-time colleagues. Our customer service hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with occasional evening or Sunday duties during high seasons. Part-timers are expected to have a regular schedule for part of these hours.

Location: Remote/flexible; Greater Washington DC area strongly preferred. All KOL Foods employees are currently working remotely. We plan to return to an office setting in the future, with continued remote flexibility.

Core Duties:

Customer Happiness (80-85%): 

  • Respond to and resolve questions about products, orders and shipping;

  • Coordinate with our warehouse;

  • Monitor and troubleshoot shipping with third-party shippers;

  • Manage Buying Clubs (includes calendar and volunteer management, basic logistics);

  • Handle and record order adjustments;

  • Limited website management (joint responsibility);

Other related assignments as necessary (15-20%):

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent communications and writing skills, kinder-than-necessary demeanor and impeccable phone etiquette;

  • Ability to listen and respond with empathy while taking notes and exploring answers;

  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others;

  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize tasks and make quick decisions;

  • Outgoing, positive personality and a sense of humor;

  • Stay calm and kind under pressure;

  • Be comfortable with using and maintaining data in various software applications;

  • Strong interest in food; interest in the sustainable food movement or in kosher food preferred.

Compensation and Benefits: $39,000 plus performance-based commission and bonus. KOL Foods provides health and dental insurance, as well as paid US and Jewish holidays and vacation time.

We provide paid sick leave, and support the health of our staff, who may use accrued sick time for unscheduled leave when not feeling well (mind or body), as well as for scheduled medical appointments.
