Though delectable on its own, the crunchy and fresh bite of the apple and pear slaw elevates this burger to the next level. Paired with a simple, spicy mayo, this burger hits on all of your taste buds!

Ingredients:

Burger

KOL Foods Ground Turkey Mix, 1 lb

3 green onions, finely chopped

Half a yellow onion, finely chopped

1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped

3 garlic cloves, finely chopped

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil

¼ cup breadcrumbs

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon pepper

Hamburger buns of your choice

Apple and Pear Slaw

1 granny smith apple, julienned

1 Asian pear, julienned

2 green onions, finely chopped

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon pepper

Spicy Mayo

3 tablespoons mayo

1 teaspoon sriracha, or to taste

Directions:

  1. Begin by making your patties. Prepare the garlic, ginger, and onion. Add to a bowl with the ground turkey, seasoning, and hoisin sauce. Mix and then add your breadcrumbs. Form into patties and set aside.
  2. Heat a large cast iron (or the grill). If using the stovetop, add your olive oil. Once hot, add your patties into the pan, being sure not to overcrowd. Cook for about 7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165. Do not overcook!
  3. While your patties are cooking, whisk your olive oil, vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, and seasoning to make the dressing for the slaw. Set aside.
  4. Prepare your thinly sliced apples and pears. Be sure to have thin, uniform cuts on these to create an even bite. Thinly slice two green onions.
  5. Combine your slaw ingredients in a bowl. Dress and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
  6. Mix the mayo and sriracha together to taste. Set aside.
  7. Lastly, assemble your burgers! Toast your buns if you’d like. Add a layer of spicy mayo on your buns, followed by the turkey burger and a generous helping of slaw. Serve with fries, a salad, or your favorite side. Enjoy!
