Fried Kosher Heritage Chicken

Here are three different ways to fry your KOL Foods heritage chicken. Whatever the method you choose, we know you'll love it! 

Method 1 - Pan Fried: 

*Works best for a 2.5 - 3 lb Heritage KOL Foods Chicken

  1. Cut chicken into 6-8 pieces and bread
  2. Fill pan with 1 inch of oil and heat to 325-350° F
  3. Brown chicken on both sides
  4. Lower heat to 250° F and cover with a tight fitting lid
  5. Cook 20-30 minutes per pound, turning pieces every 20-30 minutes
  6. Take the lid off and turn up heat and cook until chicken is crisp
  7. Remove chicken and place on paper towels to remove excess grease

Method 2 - Deep Fried: 

*Works best for a 2.5 - 3 lb Heritage KOL Foods Chicken

  1. Cut chicken into 6-8 pieces and bread
  2. Fill pan with oil and heat to 325-350° F
  3. Place chicken in pan and cook for 23-25 minutes
  4. Remove chicken and place on paper towels to remove excess grease

Method 3 - Pressure Cooker: 

*Recommended for a Heritage KOL Foods Chicken over 3.5 lbs

  1. Cut chicken into 6-8 pieces and pressure cook 1 inch with chicken sitting above 1 inch of water on canning plate. See below for cooking time estimates depending on the weight of your bird! 
  2. Put the chicken in the fridge till it cools down completely
  3. Bread chicken
  4. Fill pan with peanut oil and cook at 325-350° F until brown. Approximately 8-12 minutes.
