Garam Masala Steak Sliders

"If you are cooking for a special occasion, perhaps Father’s day, then you’re going to want to make these garam masala steak sliders with the best ingredients you can find. This is why I used KOL Foods Ranch Steaks. I always find that KOL Foods meat has a quality and taste far superior to any other meat I have eaten." - This American Bite

For the sandwiches:

  • 2 KOL Foods Cowboy or other boneless Steaks
  • 2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 teaspoon red curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon date sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Red onion mayonnaise (see below)

For the Red Onion Mayonnaise:

  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Veganaise
  • 1 Teaspoon Olive Oil

To make the mayonnaise, melt the coconut oil in a skillet. Dice the onion and fry on a medium-low heat, stirring every five or six minutes so the onion doesn’t burn. Keep the onion on the heat for fifteen to twenty minutes, until the onion starts to caramelize.

Allow the onions to cool, the mix with 1 tablespoon of vegan-mayo and drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil.

To make the sandwiches, mix the garam masala, red curry powder, date sugar and salt to create a spice blend.

Rub the spice blend over the meat and let it sit for 30 minutes (or overnight if time allows).

Cut each steak into eight 1 inch cubes and fry each steak cube for 90 seconds then turn and fry for another 60-90 seconds.

Remove the cooked steak from the heat, let it rest for two to three minutes then slice each cube of steak into four even slices.

Serve on slider buns or gluten free naan with the red onion mayo.

Serves 2 as a main dish or 4 as an appetizer.
