Simple Stir-Fried Chicken Hearts

This recipe is easy to make, very nutritious, and super flavorful. It's fast and ideal for a weeknight dinner. It's tasty and rather mild, making it a good introduction to offal.


  • 1 lb. Chicken Hearts (these have been kashered and already salted for you)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup green onions

Place the chicken hearts, olive oil, pepper, garlic powder, and cumin in a large bowl.

Use a large spoon, or your hands, to mix everything together, coating the chicken hearts with the oil and seasonings.

Heat a large, heavy frying pan over medium-high heat for about three minutes.

Add the seasoned chicken hearts. Cook, stirring often, until browned and cooked through, about five minutes. Add green onions for the last minute of cooking. Serve immediately.
